The Washington University Leadership Pathway is a professional development certificate program that prepares interested medicine residents for early career leadership opportunities by building your leadership skill knowledge base and skillset as well as exploring the variety of career options and opportunities in leadership.

The pathway includes three main components: recurring leadership skill workshops that will be during your clinic blocks and include partnership with the BLI. The pathway also includes a career exploration sessions with a variety of leaders across the institution who will share their career path, current role(s), and tips for career success; this will be followed by a Q&A session. The third component is institutional involvement (though joining an existing institutional committee) and developing and executing a longitudinal individual project with guided mentorship.

The program will be two years; however, as this is the first year of the program, interested rising PGY3 residents will complete a one-year curriculum.

For questions regarding this pathway, please contact Maureen Lyons, MD.
