What drew you to WashU?

I couples matched at WashU, and it was important to my fiancé and I to match in a location it would be easy to live, knowing that time, finances, and energy can be tight during residency. Here, we live affordably in Central West End surrounded by fun places to eat outdoors and a short walk both from work and a huge park with enough free attractions to keep us busy all of residency. We also wanted to match with programs where the residents and leadership were both intellectually curious and down to earth. Here, we felt our future PDs and co-residents were relatable and would hold us to high standards.

What is your favorite part about living in St. Louis?

Fun places in St. Louis are so accessible compared to those in other cities I’ve lived. I love animals and can go to the amazing St. Louis Zoo anytime because it is free and I can jog there from the hospital. On days off my friends and I drive 20-30 minutes to see elk and bison in Lone Elk State Park, go horseback riding, or hike along the Meramec River in Castlewood State Park.
